SAYS was founded in January 2015 with support from Parents in Partnership Stockport and funded by Stockport Council. From September 2016 Seashell Trust have provided two Young People's Participation Workers for 16 hours per week to support young people and the running of the group ensuring it is accessible to all. The workers are trained to support children and young people and particularly those with complex learning disabilities and additional communication needs. SAYS steering group is made up young people and we meet regularly every two weeks and more often if we need to, please see our Events page for the latest information.
We believe every young person with special educational needs and disabilities has the right for their voice to be heard just as much as any other young person using local services.
